Over the past 30 years, Eastboard Consoles has built award-winning control
room furniture for broadcast networks, stations, and production facilities throughout the world. We specialize in new
approaches to creating environments for working with electronic media. Steve Goldberg, Eastboard's founder, designs
custom consoles, monitor walls, desks and other cabinetry for projects ranging from complete stations to simple edit desks.
Based on his unique and recognized aesthetic, and driven by ergonomic principles and standards, consoles by Eastboard are
functional, beautiful, well-respected and affordable.
Now, guided by three decades of experience, we've developed
RACKBLOCKS©, an innovative and intuitive, modular approach to building control room furniture, now and in the future.
And we’ve just introduced RACKBLOCKS-G©, our eco-friendly version designed
especially for projects seeking LEED status. The RACKBLOCKS© Modular Console System is designed around frames built from high-strength aluminum extrusions
with T-slot mounting tracks, for mounting monitor arms, speakers, lights and other accessories wherever needed. Standard-size
equipment housings and other cabinetry elements, such as turrets, slatwall mounts, or storage units are then added to the
frames, along with steel brackets supporting the worksurfaces, anti-tip legs, and sliding-door access panels.
The
cabinetry elements are movable and interchangeable for utmost flexibility in arranging each work area. New elements
can easily replace existing ones, and worksurfaces can simply be replaced when required to fit new equipment. The console
frames themselves can be shortened or lengthened, or combined with existing frames to form new layouts. Additional elements
can then be mounted to populate the frames. In addition, entire consoles can be quickly joined by corner wedges to form
angled layouts, without no disassmbly required. Simple setup with minimal assembly means you're ready for equipment
integration quickly. Consoles can be shipped fitted with options such as power distribution or grounding and lacing
bars. Our standard exterior finish is laminate with a vinyl bullnose worksurface edge. Other finishing options
and edge trims are available, including linoleum, veneers, Richlite© and solid-surface materials.
Since the cabinetry elements can be easily removed and replaced, and the
frames can be altered on site, RACKBLOCKS©
consoles will remain useful for many, many years to come. This ultimately means that less material will wind up in landfills.
When it does become time to replace the consoles, most of the components are recycleable.
The sleek, trim shapes used throughout the RACKBLOCKS© system produce consoles
to complement your facility, today and in the future. Contact us today and put RACKBLOCKS©
to work for you.
